The month of walnuts kicks in and the team of Vamvakou Revival is preparing unique gourmet surprises for the first Sunday of October! We put on comfortable clothes, get to the village square at 12:00, hop on the van and head to the walnut trees, a short drive from the village. There, we have the chance to attend the harvesting process, participate actively and then enjoy a unique cooking & tasting class by Dina Kalogerakou. The menu will, of course, have a walnuty taste!
So: pocket pies filled with chicken salad with garlic-scented walnut and parsley sauce; salad with wild rice, leek and walnut; caramelized walnuts with spices to accompany a yoghurt mousse. Vegan options will be also available based on aubergine.
