The Athenians get to … Vamvakou!

At the village alleys

Vamvakou Revival and Athens Photo World join forces and present at 900m. altitude, on Mount Parnon, a different photo exhibition full of contrasts. Socrates Baltagiannis, known to the wider public for his photo activity, “dresses up” the footpaths of Vamvakou with 20 black & white photos, bringing the harsh face of life in the city in contrast with the revival of the countryside. The 8th art comes to Vamvakou and thus in selected spots of the village you will come across the unique photos of Socrates Baltagiannis, revealing new realities.

Socrates Baltagiannis about the exhibition The Athenians:

A wandering in the streets of the city of Athens, where I was born and grew up in and as much as it hurts me, I stubbornly choose to live in. A wandering in the streets of the city which gives you the feeling that you are dealing with a real person; a multidimensional individual. A city with every alley having its distinct character and where, around every corner, a change of forms and personality is taking place. Individual frames, individual stories of everyday life. Put it all together and you have the pieces of the puzzle The Athenians.
