The Christmas journey begins from the Vamvakou Traditional Guesthouse with “Scrooge… a Christmas carol” by Charles Dickens, narrated by Flora Kalomiri by the fireplace with hot chocolate and delicious biscuits. Then, in the square of Vamvakou, we will create along with Stella Legga our own original Christmas notebook, where we will be writing to Santa Claus our wishes. From 16:00 onwards, on the alleys of the village, you will come across stilt walkers and many bubbles; a spectacular fire show by Cirk de Votanik and another one with bubbles by La Petite Marguerite are waiting for you!
Shortly before the Christmas decoration of Vamvakou comes to life, at 17:30, the choir of the Music School of Sparti will chant Christmas carols and songs, under the direction of Kostas Giaxoglou. Join us to sing together and count down for the lighting of the Christmas tree, that this year too will be adorning the square of Vamvakou, as well as to bring the Christmas decoration to life. This festive afternoon will be completed with a big concert by Nikos Portokaloglou at an altitude of 900m.
Nikos Portokaloglou, one of the leading musicians and songwriters in Greece, will be with us in the square of Vamvakou at 18:00 to present the music show “Ena fos anammeno” [A light on], which is based on songs from his personal discography as well as on bold combinations of Greek and iconic foreign songs, realized in the unique and special way followed in the TV show “Mousiko Kouti” [Music Box]. Along with him will be Vicky Karatzoglou, a great authentic voice of popular music, and Byron Tsourapis, a young musician and member of the band of “Mousiko Kouti”. The performance is completed by the colourful and dynamic group “Evgeneis Alites”.
