The theatre group “Mikros Notos” visits again Vamvakou to bring to life the favourite story of children and grown-ups. “The little tailor of words”, a contemporary fairytale speaking to people’s hearts – tender, touching and more relevant than ever – talks about the power of words, the need for human communication, love, comfort and the warmth human speech offers.
Using pure materials – live music, movement, interaction, pantomime –, the group puts together a handmade performance that is so cosy and colourful as the blanket made by the little tailor that eventually warmly wrapped all the inhabitants of his town.
A few words about the story
Once upon a time, in a small town that still resembled a village lived a tailor who was unique because he was the only tailor in town and, also, because he made clothes using words! He would carefully choose the words for each inhabitant of the town and, thus, people dressed in his clothes would spend their winters feeling warm and their summers feeling fresh. However, as time passed by, the town grew bigger, its inhabitants hastier and absent-minded and, thus, forgot all about the tailor. Still, upon the occurrence of a harsh winter, none of their new clothes would keep them warm. So, they remembered the little tailor again weaving words so wonderfully and, this way, managed to feel the warmth again. As it is words that warm up, refresh and console each and every heart.
