Were the stone craftsmen of Lagadia creating the first “design objects”? Or simply… “tourakia” [stone benches]? In this workshop, we retrace the paths of our ancestors, returning to the fundamental materials of clay, lime and stone. Join us in reviving, in Vamvakou, the valuable heritage of the master builders from Lagadia, Arcadia, who shaped the village’s identity. Picking up the thread from the old artisans, participants reconnect with their architectural roots through hands-on restoration work on fountains and cobbled paths, in collaboration with the association “Flowers of Stone” and the General State Archives of Laconia.
Both on Saturday and Sunday, visitors will also have the opportunity to observe and participate in the restoration of Pera Vrysi in Vamvakou.
