The Vamvakou Revival initiative and members of our team traveled to Brussels and participated in the European Week of Regions and Cities, which took place from October 13 to 15, 2025.
Vamvakou Revival, following an invitation from the Region of Peloponnese, had its own booth at the exhibition themed “Cohesion and Sustainable Development for the Future.” As part of our participation, we had the opportunity to present the initiative, enhance our outreach efforts, and engage in discussions with members of the European Commission, representatives of organizations and institutions, as well as bodies managing European programs.
In addition, the “pasteloboukitses” (traditional sesame-honey bites) made by the ”Vamvakia” Women’s Cooperative of Vamvakou traveled with us, offering participants the chance to taste them during a culinary event organized by the Region of Peloponnese.
The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual event held in Brussels, where cities and regions showcase their contribution to growth and job creation, the implementation of the EU’s cohesion policy, and the role of local and regional levels in shaping effective European governance.
We would like to warmly thank the Region of Peloponnese for the invitation and the opportunity to participate.
A special thank-you also goes to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) for its ongoing support and for giving us the invaluable opportunity to create a model initiative for regional development.
