NextGen Vamvakou Camp 25 – 29 August 2025 | For teenagers from 12 – 18 years old

Following five highly successful summer camps that actively engaged hundreds of children in creating and exploring in nature, this year Vamvakou Revival and the village of Vamvakou welcome 40 young people aged 12-18 with open arms and invite them for the first time to a five-day camp specially designed for teenagers; a camp where art, free expression, nature and original experiences are intertwined. The NextGen Vamvakou Camp 2025 will take place from 25-29 August in Vamvakou, Lakonia, as part of the Vamvakou Revival initiative, which is being implemented thanks to the exclusive support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

What about spending a relaxed time just before school and extracurricular lessons start, for 5 days of art, adventure, natural living and new experiences? What's in for me?

Forget everything you know so far, and that might come to mind once you hear the word “summer camp”. In Vamvakou, life is lived uniquely! Here:

– You will write lyrics with Anser, making words into images and images into words.

– You will give it a try and experiment with Art: How? By learning how to draw and paint, creating comics and illustrating your book, bringing theatrical characters to life, answering “what if…” questions, dancing and listening for body movement and discovering literature through Cavafy, Elytis, Ritsos and… yourself!

– You will relax and connect with nature: Yoga, meditation, forest bathing, hikes on unexplored trails, animal flow, callisthenics and archery, adventure games including climbing and challenges.

– You will be inspired: Screening of the documentary Arctic Odyssey, followed by a meeting and open discussion with its creator, Euaggelos Rassias, Winner of the 1st Audience Award, 27th Thessaloniki Film and Documentary Festival 2025.

– You will celebrate: The camp ends with a concert by the music group ON/OFF! And don’t forget! You and your friends may join in with your instruments and songs!

Daily Program:

From 9:30 in the morning until 7:00 in the evening. Daily departure from and return to Sparta. Participants will be transported to and from Vamvakou with special bus services to and from Sparta. Food, snacks – all arranged by us. Just bring on the good vibes!

10:30 Arrival and welcome in Vamvakou
10:45 Introduction and group warm-up (snack brought from home)
10:45 – 12:45 Art Workshops / Wellness Activities
12:45 – 14:00 Free time, relaxation, games (basketball, football, ping-pong, etc.) & lunch provided by the organizers
14:00 – 16:00 Art Workshops / Wellness Activities
16:00 – 16:15 Break
16:15 – 17:30 Sports Activities
17:30 End of the day & completion of questionnaire
18:00 Departure from Vamvakou to return to Sparta

* The schedule will be modified on 29/08/2025 for the closing ceremony. Departure from Sparta will be at 15:30 and return from Vamvakou to Sparta at 20:30.
